What is Lactic Acid

Lactic Acid peels are alpha hydroxy acids. These moisturising peels are more gentle on the skin than Glycolic and Salicylic peels. Lactic peels increase collagen production, resurface skin, improve skin texture and reduces the appearance of uneven skin. Lactic peels 60-90% strength are ideal treatments for individuals who have had prior experience using lactic acid peels of equal or greater strength. First time users should always start at 20% to avoid burns.

What Lactic Acid Peels do

Eliminate germs, toxins and dead cells on skin’s surface. Rejuvenates skin by encouraging the shedding of old, sun-damaged surface skin cells. It stimulates new growth of skin and collagen by decreasing the bond that holds dead skin cells on the surface. This allows dead cells to be removed gradually, leaving behind a layer of smoother and softer skin.

1: Cleanse face with an oil-free cleanser.

2: Have a neutralising solution ready to stop the action of the acid if needed. We recommend a baking soda/water solution (1 part baking soda to 10 parts water). * this step is optional

3: Apply peel to face with a cotton ball, applying more pressure on areas that need added exfoliation.

4: Wait 2-3 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. If needed, use neutralising solution from step 2, to neutralise acid.

5: Apply a good skin moisturiser onto treated area. We recommend our Dragons Blood Rejuvenation gel.

6: Repeat peel once a week. Or after skin has healed

Tips to Remember

Keep the acid a 1 cm or more away from the eyes and mucus membranes. Never use the peel on open wounds, irritated or highly sensitive skin. Don't use the product more than once a week. Avoid sun exposure for at least a day after the peel. Don't apply acid to skin that's been shaved within a day. A slight stinging sensation is normal after applying the acid; if it hurts or is too uncomfortable, rinse off the acid. Skin may be red after a peel; the redness should fade.

This product may increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun and the possibility of sunburn. Use a broad spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30+ and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterward.
